Also known as Chitala chitala or Indian knifefish, is a freshwater fish found in South Asia, particularly in the Indian subcontinent. It is characterized by its knife-like body shape, hence the name "knifefish". Chital fish are primarily carnivorous, feeding on smaller fish, shrimp, snails, and aquatic insects. They are known to inhabit rivers, swamps, and freshwater lakes.
